Rebel Discourse(s) on Gender as Demonstrated by Contemporary and Historical Chinese Marriage Practices

I attempt to evaluate rebel discourse(s), as opposed mainstream, dominant discourse, on gender demonstrated by marriage practices in Chinese societies, both contemporary and historical, vis-à-vis general Western, practices. This is done discursive-analytically way of cross-cultural analysis methodology. Contributions the theory discourse are considered applied. In this contribution, several discourses during post-Maoist Peoples’ Republic China (PRC) former dynastic periods, found be emancipatory (with women refusing partake patriarchal constructs such marriage) progressive having sexual partners simultaneously). The hope expressed that profound insights unearthed from these discourse(s) might beneficial for Western feminisms.
